Vale's Oman pellet plant sets quarterly output record
Vale’s Oman-based iron ore pelletising plant saw output surge 63.3% on-year in the fourth quarter of 2016 to 2.45 million tonnes, a quarterly record. The growth was due to productivity gains and a low-base effect following maintenance in Q4 2015, Kallanish learns from the Brazilian miner. This output was also up 5.6% from Q3.
