Vale's Oman pellet output surges in first quarter
Vale’s Oman-based iron ore pelletising plant saw output surge 22.6% on-year in the first quarter to 2.36 million tonnes. This was due to higher productivity and a low-base effect following the 30-day maintenance stoppage in Q1 2016, Kallanish learns from the Brazilian miner.
This production was, however, down -3.7% on Q4 2016 due to a ten-day scheduled maintenance stoppage.
