Poor drainage behind Vale dam collapse, say experts
The Brumadinho tailings dam accident was provoked by defective design. Intense rain and poor internal drainage affected the structure of Dam 1 at the Córrego do Feijão mine. So says the expert panel in its technical report on the causes of the Brumadinho accident.
The investigation was commissioned by Vale, while the four geotechnical engineering experts and consultants in the panel were retained by outsourcing legal counsel.
