Vale comments further on Brumadinho incident
The board of directors of Brazilian miner Vale did not have knowledge of an internal report indicating that Dam 1 at Brumadinho was at risk of collapse. This was revealed by the company’s cfo Luciano Siani Pires during a conference on 12 February monitored by Kallanish.
The statement came after a media report suggested that the company was aware of a high risk of failure of the dam at the Córrego do Beijão mine.
