Vale sells two more very large ore carriers
Brazilian iron ore miner Vale tells Kallanish that it has concluded the sale of two very large iron ore carriers (VLOC) to Bank of Communications Finance Leasing Co., Ltd. (Bocomm).
The carriers each have a capacity of 400,000 tons, Vale says, and were owned and being operated by the miner. The transaction totalled approximately $178 million and this amount was received by Vale on 8 August upon delivery of the vessels.
