Vale Oman pellet output rises in Q2
Vale’s Oman-based iron ore pelletising plant saw production rise 5.4% on-year in the second quarter to 1.95 million tonnes. This was due to a 32-day scheduled maintenance stoppage in May-June 2016, Kallanish learns from the Brazilian miner.
This production was, however, down -17.6% on Q1 due to a 37-day scheduled maintenance stoppage in one of the plant’s lines in April-May. This represents the second consecutive quarter of sequential decline.
