Vale Oman output plunges on pellet feed shortage
Vale’s Oman-based iron ore pelletising plant saw production plunge -54% on-year in the first quarter to only 912,000 tonnes due to lower availability of pellet feed, the Brazilian miner says. Output also fell -62% versus Q4 2019.
The Oman plant thus accounted for 7.6% of Vale's consolidated output compared to 6.2% in Q1 2019 and 24.2% in Q4 2019.
