Vale implements emergency action plan at Taquaras dam
Brazilian miner Vale has activated Level 1 of the Emergency Action Plan for Mining Dams (PAEBM) at the Taquaras dam, of the Mar Azul mine, Minas Gerais. The protocol does not require the evacuation of the population downstream of the structure, Kallanish learns from the miner.
The safety measure will not affect Vale's 2020 production plan, as the Mar Azul mine is an asset which has not belonged to the company`s production chain since October 2018, Vale says.
