Vale completes seventh upstream dam decommissioning
Brazil’s Vale says it has completed the decommissioning of dike 5 of the Pontal dam in Itabira. This is the seventh structure built by the upstream method that the miner has removed since the Brumadinho dam failure in January 2019, Kallanish notes.
During Vale’s presentation to investors at the New York Stock Exchange held on 29 November, the miner announced a revision of its decommissioning plan.
