Emergency plan activation to spare Vale 2020 production
Brazilian miner Vale has implemented Level 1 of the Emergency Action Plan for Mining Dams (PAEBM) for dams 6 and 7A at the Águas Claras Mine and the Area IX dam, at the Fábrica Mine in Minas Gerais.
The structures are inactive and no anomalies have been identified that could compromise the safety of the structures, Kallanish learns from the miner. The protocol does not require the evacuation of the population downstream of the structure, Vale says.
