USW is wary, hopeful about Bedrock deal
The Canadian wing of the United Steelworkers (USW) labour union says it is “cautiously optimistic” about the deal inked between Bedrock Industries and US Steel that paves the way for US Steel Canada’s purchase, Kallanish reports.
US Steel agreed to a $126 million payment from Bedrock and the promise of certain legal releases to satisfy a nearly $2 billion claim the company held against its former subsidiary.
