USW, Ontario weigh in on US Steel Canada hearings
The United Steelworkers labour union and the provincial government of Ontario have filed objections to US Steel’s involvement in its former subsidiary’s proposed sale process, Kallanish learns from court documents.
US Steel Canada, which was spun off into an independent company by US Steel in October, is in the midst of court-monitored creditor protection and restructuring. Hearings on the company’s sale and restructuring plans began Tuesday.
