USW leaders chafe at Carrier deal
The United Steelworkers (USW) labour union says President-elect Donald Trump’s deal with heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) manufacturer Carrier to retain its Indianapolis, Indiana, workforce is not as grand as it was first portrayed.
Carrier still plans to reduce its 2,100-person workforce in Indianapolis, retaining only 730 employees. The balance will be shifted to Carrier’s operations in Mexico, Kallanish notes.
