USSK anticipates lower profitability after first-quarter sales slump
US Steel says “…commercial headwinds” will be the primary driver for reduced Ebitda going forward at its Slovakian steelworks.
US Steel Kosice (USSK) reported a -25% on-year slump in deliveries in the first quarter to 801,000 net tons. Raw steel capacity utilisation fell -24% to 882,000nt, giving a capacity utilisation of 71% versus 94% a year earlier, Kallanish notes.
Average realised selling price was €554/nt versus €590/nt in Q1 20…
