USS finishes Midwest Plant restart
US Steel has restarted the tin plate line at its Midwest Plant in Portage, Indiana, following an 11 April wastewater spill, Kallanish learns from a company release.
The restart process began 14 April. The plant was temporarily shut down as a result of a reported wastewater spill that was thought to contain a carcinogen. Several nearby beaches closed as a precaution.
