USS to close Lorain QT line in June
US Steel plans to close its No. 6 quench-and-temper line at its Lorain, Ohio, works by 8 June, Kallanish reports.
A spokeswoman for US Steel says the United Steelworkers at the facility were notified of the impending closure on 10 March. The line has been idled since March 2015, but operated prior to that on an “... infrequent” basis, the spokeswoman says.
