USS agrees to $75 million clean-up in Duluth
US Steel and the country's Environmental Protection Agency have agreed to partner on a projected $75 million clean-up of the company's former Duluth Works site in Duluth, Minnesota.
The project includes dredging roughly 700,000 cubic yards of contaminated sediment in the St. Louis River, thereby creating 100 acres of new estuary and a 30-acre bay.
The project is slated for completion by the end of the year.
