Usiminas confirms production loss after blast furnace accident
Brazilian steelmaker Usinas Siderúrgicas de Minas Gerais confirms it has suffered disruption to production following the accident at blast furnace no.1 at its Ipatinga plant on 22 September.
The company made the announcement after media reports suggested it had incurred an estimated production loss of 100,000 tonnes of steel.
