US truck tonnage slides in May
US for-hire truck tonnage fell sharply in May after a significant jump in April, Kallanish learns form the American Trucking Association (ATA).
For-hire tonnage fell -6.1% after rising 7% in April, the association reports. The ATA’s tonnage index remains up 0.9% on-year, though the association notes that’s the smallest on-year gain since April 2017.
