US truck tonnage rises in November
US for-hire truck tonnage increased again in November, Kallanish learns from the American Trucking Association.
The association’s for-hire index increased 2.3% in November, on the back of a 3.9% increase in October. The index is up 7.6% compared with November 2016.
Trucking serves a bellwether for the economy as a whole, as more than 70% of all domestic freight is carried by truck.
