US truck tonnage advances in July
US for-hire truck tonnage ticked slightly up in July following June’s drop, Kallanish learns from the American Trucking Association.
The association’s tonnage index increased 0.1% in July, having fallen -4.4% in June. Truck tonnage serves as a bellwether for the economy in general, as 70% of all domestic goods are shipped via truck.
