US steel shipments rise in March
US steel mill shipments rose both on-year and on-month in March, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US mill shipments reached 8.328 million short tons in March, up 0.3% from March 2018 and up 7.5% from February.
Hot-dipped galvanized sheet and strip shipments rose 9% from February to March, while hot-rolled shipments rose 8% and cold-rolled shipments rose 6%.
Year-to-date shipments stand at 24.152m st, up 2.9% from last year.
