US steel shipments retreat in May
US steel shipments appear to have slipped from April to May, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US steel shipments for May were about 5.46 million short tons, down -2.9% from April and -32.9% from May 2019.
Hot-dipped galvanized sheet shipments fell by -3% on-month, while hot-rolled sheet shipments fell by -4% and cold-rolled sheet shipments fell by -6%.
