Steel shipments fall in US in September

US steel mill shipments dropped -4.7% from August to September, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute. September shipments totaled 7.56m short tons, down -4.7% on month but still up 11.7% from last year. Cold-rolled sheet shipments rose 5% from August to September, but that was counterbalanced by 9% drops in hot-rolled and hot-dipped galvanized shipments. Year-to-date shipments stand at 68.43m st, up 4% from last year.
