US Steel settles Clairton suit for $8.5 million
US Steel plans to settle a 2017 class-action lawsuit concerning its Clairton, Pennsylvania, coke works for $8.5 million, Kallanish learns from court documents.
The Allegheny Count Common Pleas Court has preliminarily approved the settlement. From the $8.5m total, at least $6.5m will be used to address emissions at the Clairton plant. The remainder will be split between the class-action actors.
