US Steel receives environmental fines
The Allegheny County Health Department has hit US Steel with air pollution fines related to the company’s Clairton Coke Works incidents last year, Kallanish learns from a department statement.
The fines total $743,625, 90% of which will be allotted to a community benefit trust set up by the company in a June 2019 settlement with the department. The remainder of the fine will be transferred to the Clean Air Fund.
