US steel production slips on week
US raw steel production fell -0.3% in the week ended 20 October but remains up significantly on year, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US raw steel production stands at 1.875 million short tons at 80% capability utilisation, down -0.3% from the previous week, when utilisation was 80.2%, but up 10% from the equivalent week last year, when utilisation was 73.2%.
