US steel production drops on week
US raw steel production dropped week on week but rose year on year in the week ended 24 March, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US raw steel production stands at 1.803 million short tons at 77.4% capability utilisation, a decrease of -1.3% from the previous week, when utilisation was 78.3%, but an increase of 5.1% from the equivalent week last year, when utilisation was 73.6%.
