US steel production dips for second consecutive week
US raw steel production declined slightly during the week ending 30 October, 2021, as mills operated at around 84% of capability, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
Mill output reached 1.86 million short tons during the week, a 0.5% drop from the week prior, but a 20.1% increase over the year-ago level.
Overall capability utilisation came in at 84.3% for the week compared to 84.7% the week before and 70.1% one year ago, AISI’s data…
