US Steel Kosice expects improved 2017 performance

US Steel Kosice (USSK)’s performance will improve on-year in 2017 if spot prices, raw material costs, demand, import volumes, supply chain inventories and energy costs remain at current levels, according to parent US Steel. The Slovakian producer’s shipments surged 28% on-year in the fourth quarter of 2016 to 1.26 million net tons, while capacity utilisation rose to 101% from 84% a year earlier.
