US steel imports rise in January
US steel imports appear to have ticked up in January, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI).
The US imported 2.77 million short tons of steel in January, 2.29m st of which was finished. Those figures are up 2.6 and 5.9%, respectively, from December and up 4.6% and 2.5% from January 2016.
