US steel imports plunge in June: AISI
Total and finished steel imports decreased 24.5% and 23%, respectively, in June versus May, Kallanish reports.
Based on preliminary Census Bureau data, the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) reports that the US imported 2.15 million short tons of total steel in June. Finished steel imports for June totalled 1.71m st. AISI reports year-to-date total and finished steel imports are up 2.2% versus 2023.
