US Steel to idle Fairfield, Lone Star
US Steel is temporarily idling its Fairfield and Lone Star tubular operations and adjusting its staffing levels to cope with continued pressure in the energy sector, according to spokeswoman Sarah Cassella.
US Steel told its employees Friday that its Fairfield, Alabama, mill will be idled in April and its Lone Star, Texas, mill will immediately begin the idling process.
