US Steel considers Lorain idling
US Steel is mulling an idling of its Lorain, Ohio, seamless tubular facility by the end of the month, Kallanish hears from United Steelworkers local 1104 president Dennis Hamilton.
As of Friday, Hamilton says, the company plans to take the Lorain facility from two shifts to one until the week of 27 March. If the mill’s order book has not improved by then, the company may idle the facility, Hamilton says.
