US Steel Canada moves forward with sale plan
US Steel Canada can proceed with its proposed sale process despite objections by the United Steelworkers labour union and the province of Ontario, according to a ruling by the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.
Local media reports that beleaguered US Steel Canada’s plan to either sell or liquidate the company to satisfy its creditors was approved late Tuesday. No formal explanation of the ruling has yet been published by the court, Kallanish notes.
