US stainless steel scrap export volumes remain strong
Stainless steel scrap markets in the US are resilient thus far in 2023, despite a recent downturn in pricing seen over the past few months.
Kallanish observes from its attendance at the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries' (ISRI) roundtable event in Chicago that the US stainless steel export market remains a bright spot for sellers. Export volumes have increased by nearly 80%, in a year-to-date comparison, during the first six months of 2023.
