US shipments slide in April

US steel shipments dropped by -6% from March to April, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute. April shipments totaled 7.798 million short tons – a -6% drop month on month, though up 5% from April 2017. Hot-rolled, cold-rolled, and hot-dipped galvanized shipments all fell by -6% individually, contributing to the overall drop. Year-to-date shipments stand at 31.26 m st, up 4% year on year.
