US shipments rise in October
October steel mill shipments rose 4.6% from September to October and 6% from October 2017, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US steel mill shipments reached 8.174 million short tons in October, the institute says. Hot-rolled sheet shipments were level from September to October, while hot-dipped galvanized sheet shipments increased by 4% and cold-rolled sheet shipments increased by 7%.
