US sheet prices decline amid shifting market factors
US prices of hot and cold rolled coil decreased this week as attention shifts towards the near-term impact of a United Autoworker strike, the sale of US Steel, and buyers’ belief that prices will drop again, Kallanish notes.
Hot rolled coil is at $700-720/short ton, down from $790-820/st last week, while cold rolled coil is now at $950-1,000/st, down from $1,000-1,010/st.
