US sheet prices soar after latest mill hikes
US hot rolled coil prices are taking a leap this week to $1,000-1,050/short ton from $880-910/st last week, and cold rolled coil transaction prices have risen to $1,170-1,190/st from $1,050-1,150/st, Kallanish reports.
Nucor and US Steel increased hot rolled coil sheet prices in correlation with seasonal demand increases for the first quarter of 2024 (see Kallanish 28 November).
