US sheet price hikes settle into market
The US sheet price hikes spearheaded by Nucor and subsequently supported by US Steel are gaining traction among mills, but buyers are divided as to how closely they will stick, Kallanish understands.
The $40/short ton hike has since gained support from ArcelorMittal Dofasco and California Steel Industries.
At least one Midwest buyer, however, says that no change has occurred in quoting from his regular mills.
