US scrap prices settle mostly stable
Domestic scrap prices in the US settled last week, with shredded and cut grades remaining unchanged from February while prime grades increased.
Although there were strong expectations of a $10-20/gross ton increase due to the $40/gt higher sheet prices the previous week, mills managed to keep scrap prices stable, especially for shredded and cut grades. Prime grades, however, increased $10/gt.
