US scrap prices settle mostly sideways in June
Scrap prices in the US have settled mostly sideways in June trading despite continuing price increases in major export destinations.
Shredded scrap prices have even softened by $10/gross ton, as mills had little appetite for this scrap, which has caused supply to remain in excess of demand. Prime grades were up $10/gt, depending on the region, as a result of the ongoing halts in the automotive industry.
