US August scrap prices settle firmer than expected
Supported by strength in export markets, US domestic scrap prices settled higher last week than mills had expected.
While mills were disappointed by the higher prices, sellers, who expected the market to strengthen further, held material throughout the week and managed to achieve higher prices by the weekend.
