Turkish scrap prices rise sharply following US-origin deal
US-origin scrap prices into Turkey rose significantly following a deal concluded by a Turkish mill late on Thursday, Kallanish notes.
A Turkish mill bought an ex-US cargo consisting of 20,000 tonnes of HMS I/II 90:10 and 20,000t of shredded at an average price of $256/t cfr Turkey. The HMS 80:20 equivalent of this cargo is $252/t cfr Turkey.
