US scrap market resists price falls, uncertainty prevails
US scrap suppliers are seen resisting further price falls, specifically for shredded scrap whose inflow has weakened following the price drop during October trading, Kallanish notes.
While the scrap market is trying to find support from the price hikes for US domestic hot rolled coil, support from export markets is non-existent as prices continue to fall for West and East coast scrap exports.
