US scrap market prepares for upward price swing
The US scrap market seems to have accepted, in advance, an upswing in August trading, according to sources.
HRC values pointed upward last week after a long while, and tight supply is likely to support prices, although export prices are pressured. US mills, which seem to be preparing for firm prices, have not canceled the material not shipped at the end of last month as they usually do when they think prices will soften.
