US scrap prices seen peaking in June
Approaching June trading, US scrap market participants are preparing for price rises due to domestic mills’ strong demand.
While trading is expected to begin by mid-week, market participants are seen expecting price rises of $20-50/gross ton during the June buy cycle. The range has widened since last week due to the sharp fall in export prices on both the East and West Coasts.
