US scrap market mostly settles, sentiment positive
Scrap prices have mostly settled in the US, though trading continued in some regions on Monday.
On 3 November, some mills in the Midwest entered the market with bids for shredded at $50/gross ton higher compared to October prices. Following the entrance of more mills, however, the shredded price increase has climbed to $60-65/gt in the region. In the Southeast, shredded scrap prices increased by $50-55/gt from October.
