US raw steel slips on week
US raw steel production fell on week but remains up on year, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US raw steel production in the week ended 12 August stands at 1.867 million short tons at an average capability utilisation of 80.2%, down -1.6% from the previous, when utilisation was 81.5%, but up 0.3% from the equivalent week last year, when utilisation was 79.4%.
